Southern Valley Plein Air Painting, New Zealand.
Spent the last six days exploring the Southern mountains and valleys of New Zealand.
Experimented with some plein air painting beside the hut. It was fantastic being able to record the colours and light as they changed through the day.
Being the middle of winter and situated far in the Southern alps, the temperature was very cool, not often reaching more than 3 degrees during the day.
All this adds to the experience and gives context to my painting process of plein air in the mountains!
