"An Evening At The Tarn, Wye Creek, Queenstown, New Zealand"
Oil on Birch Ply / 400mm DIA / Original Painting by Caroline Bellamy

Wye creek leads its way up to the top of the Remarkables Ski Field from Lake Wakatipu. In the upper Wye creek these sub alpine tarns are found. They are sometimes calm, sometimes wet and windy. They freeze over in winter and are surrounded and covered by snow, often hidden. A place that changes so much through the seasons.
It is a popular spot for cross country skiers who drop into the area from the Remarkables Ski Field.
