In mid winter 2018 I ventured for the first time into the grand landscape of Fiordland, New Zealand. Fiordland's characteristic grand steep mountains and alpine lakes is some of New Zealand's iconic landscape. I wanted to capture the essence of this through my expression of painting. I camped overnight on the side of Lake Marian. The consistent rockfall overnight was unnerving however I was rewarded with this spectacular view in the morning. So still, so beautiful, the raw and untouched wild beauty of New Zealand.
