Evening Stay

These farmstead huts are surrounded by the iconic Hawkdun Ranges. I explored this inspiring Central Otago area in Autumn. 
The way the evening light filtered through the passing clouds, highlighting the range caught my eye. 
Often covered by snow in the winter this landscape is subject to extreme weather and it makes the place dramatic and exciting to travel through.

This is part of a small series I am doing of the Central Otago area located in the South Island of New Zealand. I will be completing 8-10 paintings, 500x500mm in size capturing moments and scenes that keep drawing me back to explore more and more of the unique Central Otago Landscape.
